About Us
Sudoku Event Management, a company dedicated to the advancement of Sudoku in Malaysia, was established in July 2005. As a pioneer of the Sudoku movement in Malaysia we organised the country?s very first Sudoku competition, the First Malaysian Sudoku Competition, at the YMCA of Kuala Lumpur on 18th September 2005. A second competition was held two months later on 20th November. Both events were sponsored by the YMCA, who shared our vision for this exciting pursuit.
The Company was incorporated as Sudoku.Com.My Sdn. Bhd. in July 2008
VISION & MISSION
To see Sudoku as a popular pastime in Malaysia as it has been in Japan for the last twenty years and worldwide for the last two years. To organise the Malaysian Sudoku Championship annually, and an International Sudoku Championship in Malaysia within the next two years.
To introduce and popularise the game of Sudoku among all Malaysians through the Internet, online and offline competitions, events featuring Sudoku at schools, colleges, universities, clubs and association activities, and any other avenue. Why Sudoku? It is simple, yet engaging, challenging and fun. The concept is easy to grasp and there is only one simple rule. Solving any puzzle, easy or difficult, gives one a sense of achievement and a feeling of exuberance.
PROGRESS
We conducted several Sudoku demos at schools and also facilitated competitions at a number of Treasure Hunts. We also facilitated the First Deaf Sudoku Competition and assisted in organising the First MENSA Sudoku Competition.
Organising a team of 9 from Malaysia to the Brands Asian Sudoku Challenge 2008 in Singapore? was a new milestone for us, in which the Malaysian team did rather well.? We also facilitated a series of competitions in 2008 at Tesco Malls.
The ultimate was developing our own Sudoku software and facilitating the first Online Competition in Malaysia, for University Tunku Abdul Rahman in 2008.
We now look forward to enabling online games free on the website and to organise a series of Online Competitions Nationwide.
