I think there is a loophole in the program.
If the competitions were to be basis on time, the puzzle should at least disappear or be covered with some interface when we click “pause”.
Else I can easily, click “pause” at the beginning of the game and solve the puzzle first elsewhere, and continue typing the answer when resume ;)
Hope you can modify the program to create fair and square competitions.
Thanks for your initiative to conduct this kind of competitions though.

Dear Nurul Huda,

Thanks for your comments. We appreciate your input which is true. The current configuration is for casual play for visitors, to allow for breaks and to subsequently continue.

However, for competitions, the pause function will be removed and the selection of puzzles will not be random as at present. We will use pre-selected puzzles graded according to level of difficulty.

Our webmaster is still working on features to enhance the application.

Wishing you and everyone lots of fun and info on the site.

Hai there,
Why I must typing my answer and send it repeatedly even though my answer is correct (same with the given answer) ? The computer will say that “Your puzzle is not solved correctly. Please fix mistake and try again. ” and make some blank for ‘wrong number in some cell’ even though the number for that cell is correct ( after I compare it with the given answer). Next, why the time has started early even though the puzzle has not be fully loaded yet ? So I has lost some time to finish the puzzle fast. I hope you can help me. Sorry for my poor English

Dear Den,

Thanks for your comments. Our webmaster is working on rectifying this error. We have also noticed it. As for the start time and also the time to stop when you click “solved” has been notified to our webmaster. This is also awaiting remedial action. We appreciate your comments and please bear with us for the time being.

hi there,
here I want to make suggestion about our online game. Please cancel all button (pause, restart etc) except print button so that when you start playing sudoku you must solve it. Make a start button (at sudoku page and make sure sudoku is been hiding by some interface) that when you click it then the time will start so that the timer will not start early before you solve sudoku. Show all players name that already have registered in the scoreboard even though he/ she haven’t play yet. It is not fair even though you are fast but actually the sudoku that you play is very easy than others. So, make sure named the sudoku that everyone played and put it at scoreboard (like sudoku 10023 or sudoku 2999) so that everybody can make a fair comparison. That all. Thank you for your co-operation.

Dear Den,

Thanks for your suggestions.

You have a valid point on removing the Pause and Restart buttons as this is not fair to the others on the Leader Board as some could take advantage of it.

You also have a good suggestion on the Start Time which I will discuss with our Webmaster. However, I am actually more concerned about the Finish Time when we click “Solved” as there is sometimes a longer delay in the Server response.

Re putting in all the names, and the puzzle numbers, I will follow up with my Webmaster on this.

Hi

I hv tried the puzzles and hv viewed the times posted by various players and I find it hard to believe that ppl can solved it in less than 2mins having to type in the answers n moving it using a mouse.

Is there a method I am not aware of?

I know it can be done in less than 2mins by using pen and paper method but this? Hmmmmm?..

Why is there not a way for us to key in CLUES into boxes?

Thanks for this great site.

Looks like the ability for one to climb up the leaderboard will be a daunting task.

May I suggest a dedicated puzzle on a daily basis whereby everyone competes on the same puzzle (easy, med, hard) and their respective times are clocked. Then the daily times are published. Am sure this way u will be able to draw in more sudoku puzzlers as they try to outsmart the other person.
